My interest in the field of Psychology was sparked from an early age in light of my personal life experiences. My own journey as a refugee and immigrant from the Balkans brings a deep recognition of the impact adversity can have on people. This experience also brings a unique trauma informed and cultural lens that I work from with each of my clients.
I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rockford University and a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in Trauma from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My clinical work over the past decade has focused on working with young people and adults of diverse and ethnic backgrounds, refugees, immigrants, and 2nd generation immigrants. Through my years in the field, I have developed a specialty in working with those affected by trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, attachment difficulties, relationship challenges, acculturation, and life transitions.
As a therapist, I provide a safe space and welcome each individual's unique identity, strengths, and experiences to encourage self exploration and a deeper understanding of oneself. Taking a person centered approach, I work in collaboration with the individual to identify their goals for treatment and to foster growth, healing, and authentic living.
